Not The Final Countdown

The Swedish legends proved that they are far from dead, and gave a blast of a show:

Europe is probably known in most people’s minds as “The Final Countdown” guys. This afternoon they made sure that fact disappeared as quick as the rain, as they kicked off their massive show on the biggest stage.

They were all over the stage, guitarist John Norum hid a bit behind his monitors, but they were tight as hell, and served heavier-than-usual versions of the best from their extensive catalogue of songs.

It was 80’s feelings all over, and I’ve never seen crowd surfing at a Europe show (not sure they have themselves neither). Singer Joey Tempest must be tired now, because he ran from side to side during the entire show.

I kinda expected a flat-ish power-rock show with once-were-stars, but these Swedes proved everyone otherwise.
