Introducing Brooklyn-based trio Courtesy Tier, releasing their debut LP ‘Everyone’s OK on September 9th, 2016 via Beverly Martel.
“We’re more confident, leaning harder into what we do, and more fearless about making the music we make without pretensions,” asserts guitarist and vocalist Omer Leibovitz.
And it’s that electric energy that the band brought into the studio to create their debut album, ‘Everyone’s OK’, the follow-up to their head-turning EP, ‘Little Rock’.
‘Everyone’s OK’ sees the band finding perfect balance as a trio, completed by Alex Picca on bass guitar and Layton Weedeman on drums. The record also incorporates production work from two celebrated producers; Chris “Frenchie” Smith (The Front Bottoms, …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, Purple) and Peter Katis (Interpol, The National). The album was mixed in Houston, Texas by Joe Hardy (ZZ Top).
‘Everyone’s OK’ unifies the disparate history and geography of all three band members, with Leibovitz hailing from Israel and West Africa, Weedeman’s world being the NJ suburbs of Philadelphia and Picca’s Southern upbringing bestowing a love for Bluegrass.
The fates brought the band together when Leibovitz and Weedeman (who had originally formed the band while attending Boston’s Berklee College of Music) moved to Brooklyn and met Picca while working as guitar makers for iconic guitar builder Roger Sadowsky.
Courtesy Tier is: Omer Leibovitz (vocals, guitar), Alex Picca (bass), and Layton Weedeman (drums).
