A masterpiece by Factory
Factory have gone back to their roots with new song ‘Violet Lips’. The song is a mix of Stone Roses, and heavy rock, and the two styles have really came together well in this new single. This single really highlights why they have previously been referred to as ‘Merseyside’s most promising act’, because they have knocked it out of the park with this single.
A hypnotic, Hendrix style opening goes into a Led Zeppelin style riff, accompanied by great, gritty vocals, with vocal phrasing similar to what we would once see with Stone Roses. The stone roses influence comes out later in the song with a wonderful, scratchy, high pitched Wah-Wah riff, similar to that of John Squire, or Hendrix. Just when you think the song couldn’t get any better, it does, with a perfect guitar solo, that brings a great energy to the song, really making it stand out from the rest, and it will go down a treat with their crowds when they tour this new song, and that will be a tour I wouldn’t want to miss.
This song really is a masterpiece, and this band deserve all the success they will get, especially if they come out with more songs like this. Their previous singles were equally as amazing, and their 2015 EP ‘Tomorrow Is Now’ deserves a lot more attention, and this single should bring that attention.
Keep an eye on this band, they’re gonna be big.
