2016 was quite the year for guitarist and solo artist, Jessarae.
His debut EP ‘Nobody’s Human’ went straight in the iTunes chart at number 4 last summer while his 10 date UK headline tour completely sold out including the London 02 Academy 2 Islington show.
Still only 21, Jessarae has just signed to Island Records and releases his latest EP ‘Stand In The Rain’ last November. This totally infectious track is a prime example of the quality of his writing and the ease with which he captures a timeless song on tape. Without doubt, 2017 will be his breakthrough year.
A Canadian raised in LA but now living in London, Jessarae has already worked with Eg White (Florence, Adele), Mike Crossey (1975, Jake Bugg) and Iain Archer (James Bay, Snow Patrol). You can hear his influences in his music: Jack White, Ryan Adams, Nick Drake and Bon Iver.
Equally at home onstage, Jessarae and his terrific band have just announced a UK headline tour for February 2017. Tickets are on sale now for the following dates
February Dates – get tickets
Tue 21st MANCHESTER, Sound Control
Wed 22nd CARDIFF, Globe
Thu 23rd LONDON, Boston Music Rooms
‘Stand In The Rain’ was recorded in LA and London with Jessarae co-writing and playing guitar on all the tracks. Another EP highlight, ‘Done Try’na (Save A Life)’ is a joyous slice of rock and pop driven by an addictive hook while the acoustic ‘Lens’ – recorded in a single take – displays Jessarae’s softer side. The EP finishes with an engaging acoustic version of ‘Stand In The Rain’.
Jessarae and his band have already supported 5 Seconds Of Summer, Frances and Matt Corby in addition to their sold out summer tour, building a solid reputation as an exciting live band.
Catch him now before stadium shows beckon.
