Supersonic Blues Machine return with a brand new single ‘Right Now’ to coincide with Earth Day 2019.
‘Right Now’ it’s about the “strength and power of having each other’s back as a community,” explains Fabrizo Grossi. “To get our hands dirty for the common good, in spite of all the disappointments or challenges we might face on a daily basis.”
Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22. Worldwide, various events are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First celebrated in 1970, Earth Day now includes events in more than 193 countries, which are now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network. More than 1 billion people now participate in Earth Day activities each year, making it the largest civic observance in the world. You can find out more about Earth Day HERE
Talking about launching the song on this day, Grossi add; “this Earth, is the only one we got. We need to celebrate it, but also care for it, love it and respect it, none of which has been done in a substantial form recently, and RIGHT NOW is about the “F” time to take this matters seriously and deal with them.”
Lyrically, the song, touches upon the common topics of faith and the need to unite and musically it’s the band’s love letter to The Rolling Stones. The song is also the first recorded to feature fast rising British rocker Kris Barras as singer/guitarist and introduces Supersonic Blues Machine 2.0 to the old and the new fans alike. Barras has been touring with band for more than a year and joins the nucleus of bassist/Producer Fabrizio Grossi (Steve Vai, Alice Cooper, Dave Navarro, George Clinton, Slash) and drummer Kenny Aronoff (John Fogerty, Sir Paul McCartney, John Mellencamp, The Smashing Pumpkins).
They started touring life with a huge bang, playing to thousands of fans in Norway for their debut show and then shared the extravaganza with audiences from Texas, Holland, India, Russia, UK, Italy and more. Following the release of two acclaimed albums ‘West of Flushing, South of Frisco’ (2016), ‘Californisoul’ (2017) and a triumphant performance on the mainstage at Ramblin’ Man Fair in 2017 where Classic Rock Magazine declared them a “revelation” and the outstanding show at Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London last year, the band have a fearsome presence .The revolving line up of collaborators include Billy F. Gibbons, Steve Lukather, Eric Gales, Robben Ford, Walter Trout, Warren Haynes, Lance Lopez, Chris Duarte, Joe louis Walker and that’s just so far.
The band will also be making the stems of the song availble for fans and artists to reinterpret and remix. Grossi explains, “We get to learn from everyone, and specially from people that we generally don’t deal with. Somebody could hear us going a bit more folkey, some other ones more rock, somebody else would like to hear us in a EDM context, and somebody else would like to simply use our beat and hooks to tell his or her own story. And all this by exposing the positive message of the song, i thinks it’s a great way to get the message across and believe it’s a great way to engage and empower people around you.”
