With the larger music festivals now pretty much sold out, costing a bomb and some lines ups like V just looking shamefully pants – we had a look at some of the smaller music festivals which still have tickets available, wont break the bank and all in all – probably a little cooler.
Music festivals in the Uk are now renowned around the world for their creativity and their clout in capturing the coolest acts around. They also form one of the most saturated festival markets in the world, so here are some of the smaller, cooler festivals which every music fan should check out…

So there’s just a few to get you started. So what next? Got your music festival tickets, Know where you’re going? Make sure you have a check list.
First off, our best advice would be to only take what you really need – however you arrive, you’ll inevitably have to carry your stuff a fair distance to where you camp.
Some music festivals are a “leave no trace festival” which means taking everything home with you so you leave no trace. And the less you bring the less you’ll need to take home.
Music Festival Check List.
- Festival tickets.
- A reusable water bottle.
- Sleeping bags.
- Roll mat.
- Wellies or sturdy boots.
- Toilet roll.
- A warm jumper as it can get cold at night.
- Sun tan lotion.
- Enough change of clothes in case you get wet.
- Medication if required.
- Bags for dirty clothes and rubbish.
- Mark valuables with house name and postcode so it can be posted back to you.
