First Top pick for us would have to be The Blinders. Featuring on Flick of the Finger Soundcheck album, The Blinders are stirring up quite quite a storm at the moment. Gritty Indie grunge with heavy riffs and followed by a very entertaining performance, generally ending up topless! A top Manchester band!

The Membranes have been on the punk circuit for ever and a day however theres a good reason for this – They’ve not reinvented the wheel, they have a class back catalog and they excel at doing the simple stuff well! Punk at its best…

Weirds. Where do we start on these guys… Read our live review here… however in the meantime, move over Sepulture these boys are the real deal! frantic, loud and lots of crowd involvement… don’t wear your box fresh shoes!

The Love Zombies are about to release their debut album. The album was born last year when songwriters Hollis and Davey’s songs caught the attention of legendary producer Alain Johannes (Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal, Jimmy Eat World). The pair flew out to Los Angeles to record the album and brought in the help of Joey Castillo (Queens of the Stone Age, Zakk Wylde, Eagles Of Death Metal) on drums to immortalise their distinctive brand of pop, punk and new wave which has been compared to the likes of Blondie and The Ramones.

Hands Off Gretel have been recognised Internationally, including the US, where Alternative Press picked them out as “A band you need to know about” in their Feb 16 Edition and Brooklyns TomTom magazine featured their EP. They have been labelled as the new grunge, grunge rock and other epithets. I think they have their own style, not only pleasing to the ear, but a veritable feast for the eyes too. They own the stage, all players having equally important input. If you go see go see anyone – go see this band!!
