Leeds and Reading Festival isn’t all about headliners and 2019’s options does not disappoint with the variety of alternative entertainment. Which, including dozens of word class comedians, DJ sets and the opportunity to relax with a film.

Comedy has become a special part of Leeds and Reading Festival and the first wave of funny acts have been announced. The Last Leg’s Josh Widdicombe will headline the Alternative Stage, which will also host 2004 Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Bridget Christie and Live At The Electric Circus host Russell Kane.

Those not in need of any sleep, let’s be honest that will be a lot of us, there will be a host of late-night DJs. Hot Dub Time Machine, Buttoned Down Disco (Reading) and Transgressive Takeover, with further special guests to be announced.

You can also take the weight off your feet and settle down to catch film screenings of documentaries including Frank Sidebottom’s ‘Being Frank: The Chris Sievey Story.
