Five in Five With: Charlotte Carpenter! Best One Yet!!

in Interviews by

Returning this coming October 20th with a new four track EP – ‘Shelter’ – released via her own label, Let It Go digitally and on 10” vinyl, the release features two brand new songs ‘Shelter’ and ‘Hey Mr Cowboy’, coupled with previous releases ‘Fire’ and ‘Lately’, on vinyl for the very first time.

Lead track ‘Shelter’ starts slow and moody with Charlotte chugging openly on her guitar as the band build to a tantalising chorus before they cut back down again. It’s dynamic and cinematic in its scope and vision and one of her best creations yet.

We had a quick catch up with Charlotte for our Five in Five….

What has been your biggest f@ck up on stage? Where was it, what song was it how was it received by fans? Luckily it happened at a time where I didn’t have any fans. I was playing an awful showcase gig about 6 years ago in Notting Hill. I started singing and playing two completely different songs at the same time. I was playing the guitar to a really old song called In The Night and singing the words to Let It Go. I managed to make it work for a verse then had to stop. There was no easy way out of that one.

You’re changing the band’s name to your favorite fruit + the reason you last took pain killers. Your new band name is… ? Pineapple Period! Gold.

How can we collectively put an end to online ticket touting? Feel free to show your working out for extra points… Every ticket download goes into your apple wallet or similar, you have a QR code which is scanned at the door with your name, payment card info, phone number, address etc. If it’s not you, you don’t go in. Simple.

What would your Music Super Power be and what other band would you use it on and why? I would have super strength because a lot of venues have stairs and my amp is really bloody heavy, even worst when it’s a band show. I think every band in the land who doesn’t have crew would appreciate this power.

Your idols gonna give you the instrument that their famous for, Who is it? Bruce Springsteen What Instrument? Telecaster Why? Mine is somewhat of a replica of his, but the original would be the tits.
