Hacienda Classical Returns To The Stage At Bridgewater Hall, Manchester

Hacienda Classical with Manchester Camerata, returned to where it’s incredible journey started out a little over two years ago for a very special celebratory concert at Manchester’s prestigious Bridgewater Hall.

Going back to where it began, since those early concerts the much acclaimed Hacienda / orchestra hybrid has sold out the best venues across the UK as well as taking signature slots at the most high profile festivals including Isle Of Wight and Glastonbury.

Now well into its third year, with the set revised each year by DJ’s Graeme Park and Mike Pickering, conductor Tim Crooks and exec producer Peter Hook, the first live shows of this year have seen great reactions for 2018 new set as the show moves forwards and evolves.

The brand new soundtrack featured many new additions of iconic tunes to the Hacienda Classical repertoire but the Bridgewater Hall performance, itself the closest venue to the original club promised for a very exciting and exclusive evening – and thats exactly what was delivered!

Allister Whitehead took to the decks to get the evening started followed by special guests including Peter Hook, Bez, original Hacienda vocalists Yvonne Shelton, Rae Hall and Melanie Williams – who all delivered stunning vocal performances.

Due to its time in history, there is no denying Hacienda Classical attracts a certain generation however younger, proud fans are buying tickets too. Fans who have no doubt been told the mad stories from relatives who listened to the music and attended Hacienda the first time round.

On a personal note, I think its this element that makes these nights special – almost a family affair! Its all about celebrating what Hacienda was, delivering a fresh take on the night, gaining a new generation of fans and keeping Hacienda family alive.

A worthwhile show of nostalgia whilst creating futures memories.
