An epic night to launch an epic single at The Bread Shed
Sly Antics welcomed support from Circus and Sylvette as they launched new song, ‘Sunday Fear’
Their first show of 2018 went down a treat, from fan favourites, to their new song, ‘B-side’ and of course, the already much loved, ‘Sunday Fear’, Sly Antics gave everything they had to deliver one hell of a set. The night was kicked off by upcoming Manchester band, Circus. An alternative rock 4 piece, who absolutely aced their set, and definitely gained some new fans in doing so. Circus were followed by another alternative rock quartet, but Sylvette brought something new to the table with their addition of Violin, which created a feeling that not a lot of bands can give.
After the astonishing support, on came the trio of Mancunian lads that everyone had been waiting for, and it was well worth the wait. Sam, Chris and Lee smashed into their first show of 2018 with an almighty bang, and delivered one of the best sets I have seen for a while. It was everything fans expected and more, especially with the addition of new song, ‘B-Side’, which went down perfectly, and it was as if the fans knew the song, despite this being it’s debut performance. Each member was on top form, from Lee’s great drumming, Chris’ solid basslines, and Sam’s truly fantastic guitar wielding, they really couldn’t put a foot wrong, and it resulted in the beautiful racket that fans have become so familiar with.
It’s performances like this from such hardworking bands that make the current music scene so exciting, and this performance showed this. Despite recent bad weather, and band illness, Sly Antics let nothing stop them from delivering a beautiful noise, and doing what they do best. If these boys keep at it, and keep making each performance better than their last, as they are doing, then I have a feeling that you will be hearing a lot more of the ear-piercing trio in the future.
It’s set to be a busy year ahead for Sly Antics, with possible festival appearances, and some big tour dates in the coming months, the boys are going to be busy, but the end product will be amazing. There is also a possibility of, ‘B-Side’ becoming their next single, but we will have to wait and see what the Sly-men have up their sleeves.
