Whilst some bands can make you feel there is an invisible ‘Danger: Do not get too close’sign attached to them, this ten-piece collective of poets, musicians and producers from the Northwest have far more of a ‘welcome’ mat vibe.
In fact, if you’ve ever seen The Moods live you will know they don’t just put on a gig, but instead invite you to the best house party ever.
Their latest single ‘Carnival’ is no exception to the rule, providing the same energy and a raw passion we felt in their previous offerings.
Combining hip-hop, drum & bass, reggae, powerful melodic trumpets and calypso style grooves, this song is cranked right up on the ultimate summer anthem scale. With an utterly contagious feel-good factor, trust me even the most reluctant of movers and shakers won’t be able to resist a little shoulder shuffle at the very least. Make no mistake though, whilst it is undoubtedly huge on the sunshine factor, Carnival is no gimmicky, novelty song. The Moods are a band with plenty to say and it is consistently delivered with proper grit and substance.
Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, crank this tune right up and get your shimmy on… its carnival time!
