Johnny Marr teases 3rd solo album.

The upcoming album has been recorded in Manchester’s Crazy Face Factory studio.

In a recent interview with Q Magazine, Johnny Marr has announced details of his long awaited third solo album. The album has been recorded at Manchester’s Crazy Face Factory, and features the songs ‘Day In Day Out, Rise, Hi Hello, Walk Into The Sea, Hey Angel and Bug’.

Should the album follow his previous two, then fans of this guitar genius are in for a treat, especially if they manage to get tickets for the tour, should there be one. However, unlike previous albums, this album has a political theme to it, and in recent interviews, Marr has stated that the album has been influenced by Brexit and Donald Trump, which has caused Marr to try and think up an ‘alternative society’.

Marr first teased the new album back in March 2017, when he posted a picture of his distinct black Rickenbacker in the studio. He followed this up with a series of images of band mates, guitars and himself. More recently, Johnny Marr posted pictures from the filming of a song video, which had been filmed in Manchester City Centre, a place where Marr spends a lot of time, and has done throughout his career.

It has been a busy year or so for Marr, with the release of his autobiography, a tour with Hanz Zimmer, featuring on Noel Gallagher’s upcoming album ‘Who Built The Moon’. These two Mancunian musician have worked together throughout their careers, and it is good for fans to see that despite their fame and lifestyles, the two have stayed together.

The album, which is yet to have a title, is set to be released in Spring 2018.
