Morrisey Reveals New Video & Tour Dates

in News

Morrisey has unveiled the video for Jacky’s Only Happy When She’s Up On The Stage, taken from his Top 5 album Low In High School.

Set in a 1960s-television studio filled with moody dancers, the video shows Morrisey lead satirical dance routines with his band clad in silk jumpsuits.

Despite being widely reported as such, the track is not a Brexit anthem, as recently stated by Morissey: “The song is not about Brexit; there’s no Brexit in it, the lyrics are ‘Headed for the Exit”.

The video is the second to be released from Low In High School, his 11th straight Top Ten chart album in the UK. Spent The Day In Bed, the album’s first single, paved the way, setting another milestone for Morrisey as it achieved the most radio plays he’s received in years in the USA as well as being a Top 20 air play hit in the UK.

Low In High School is the first studio album from Morrisey since 2014 and his debut for BMG. The album sees BMG partnering with Morissey on the launch of his new label, Etienne Records. Low In High School was recorded at La Fabrique Studios in France, and at Ennio Morricone’s Forum Studios in Rome. The record is produced by Joe Chiccarelli, who has worked with Frank Zappa, The Strokes, Beck and The White Stripes amongst many others.

Morissey will be performing tracks from Low In High School on his forthcoming 2018 UK tour. Tickets for the tour have already set the mark for his strongest sales ever. Full dates as follows:

Always loved music live, enjoy all genre's. Adding photography into the mix has been more recent and enjoying combing the two together. Self confessed vinyl junkie, so if not down the front, often found searching through record shops.
