After more than a decade out, The Raconteurs are back with new music
Alongside the already released ‘Sunday Driver’ and ‘Now That You’re Gone’, the new album will also include a cover of Donovan’s ‘Hey Gyp (Dig The Slowness)’
Since their last album, The Raconteurs have slipped through the net, and not much has been heard of the rock quarter, however, last year, they came back into the limelight, with a tease of new music. It was then earlier this year that Jack White, Brendon Benson, Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler released two singles from the album in the form of ‘Sunday Driver’ and ‘Now That You’re Gone’.
The new album, titled ‘Help Us Stranger’, is looking to be a great album and Jack White has already put his signature touch to the album, with the announcement of Vault Package #40, an exclusive version of the album, which will include a 180-gram marbled vinyl, a band themed slip mat, two 7″ demo tracks, and access to pre-sale tickets of the upcoming, soon to be announced headline shows. New vault members will have to register by 30th April to be able to purchase this exclusive package.
Along with the title for the album, comes the tracklist. The album will feature 12 tracks; “Bored and Razed”, “Help Me Stranger”, “Only Child”, “Don’t Bother Me”, “Shine The Light On Me”, “Somedays (I Don’t Feel Like Trying)”, “Hey Gyp”, “Sunday Driver”, “Now That You’re Gone”, “Live A Lie”, “What’s Yours Is Mine”, and “Thoughts and Prayers”. The inclusion of, “Hey Gyp” is unexpected, as the song was written by hippy-folk protest singer, Donovan, who made fame as a folk singer.
The album is set to be released 21st June through Third Man Records. A select amount of dates for the accompanying tour have been announced, but so far, no UK dates have been announced.
