Richard Ashcroft Delivers Early Christmas Present From Manchesters Albert Hall

An early Christmas present that was well and truly worth the wait. Tonight’s gig is the rearranged one from October, where Ashcroft at late notice had to cancel both the Manchester concert as well as the London Kentish town one as well, due to ill health. Having sold out for the original date, and a DJ for the opening support, The Albert Halls was packed to the rafters, virtually as… Keep Reading

Denise Johnson Stuns Northwich Fans With Flawless Performance of Manchester Classics.

Last night, Denise Johnson left Northwich fans feeling stunned after a flawless performance, playing a mixture of Mancunian classics and original material which was heard for the first time. Richard Ashcroft’s ‘These People’ album and the subsequent tour promoting it were not either of those things. I’ll be honest and say that I don’t own a single recorded work by Richard Ashcroft; either as a solo artist or from when he was fronting The… Keep Reading

For a good cause – Pete Salisbury’s do-good festival, come by if you can: The past few years has seen a proliferation in UK music festivals but with the choice so great some have struggled to attract the crowds. Some of the more successful festivals have been the smaller, more varied independent ones of which the Rec Rock Festival is one. This not for profit community festival is run by The… Keep Reading
