Q1: What has been your biggest f*ck up onstage?

A: Not to curse it or anything but we rarely fuck up, it will usually be little things if we do, like me forgetting a couple of words or the odd note drop. One that kind of stands out is when we played the Ritz. We were given 30 mins stage time, there were two songs left to play and I looked to the stage sound engineer to ask how longs left, he said 3 mins! So in a panic I told the boys to cut one song and only play the main core of Sirens (which is our set ender). Anyway, halfway through sirens the sound engineer signals that we have 10 mins left. In hindsight he was probably saying we have time for 3 more songs but in a gig that size your in the moment and I just misunderstood. The band didn’t really mind and the crowd didn’t know so it wasn’t major. We just had to leave the stage early which was a bummer.

Q2: You’re changing the band’s name to your favourite fruit + the reason you last took painkillers; your new band name is?

A: Pineapple Recreation. I sometimes take solpadol to help me sleep and chill me out. Not in a junkie way, I’m not Heath Ledger.

Q3: What’s your favorite ’90s album?

A: Easy…. What’s The Story Morning Glory by Oasis. The summer of 96 was the best of my life, Oasis were dominant in the charts, it was red hot outside and the Euro 96 campaign was in England. Brilliant. I’m not mad on the Manchester Britpop vibe, I’d love to say I was but a lot of it passed me by as I was really into Queen so I just played their stuff while learning to play the guitar. I’m more into my American Rock. I feel music from British bands was a lot better in the 00’s with the likes of Muse, Biffy Clyro and Kasabian.

Q4: What would your music Super Power be and which other bands would you use it on and why?

A: Definitely the power to erase music from the history books. I’d go straight to Justin Bieber’s house and make sure he had Drake and Nicki Minaj round for tea. It’s just brain dead music. And the ‘Rap/HipHop’ that’s out these days is shocking. Who the fuck is Post Malone! I feel sorry for the likes of Eminem because he set the stage for rap in the 00’s and then it get pissed on by these idiots.

Q5: Jam, Record or Tour! Who would you jam with, who would you record with and who would you go on tour with and why?

A: I would definitely Jam with the Foo Fighters.
Why? Can you imagine what that would be like! Dave Grohl has been in so many bands that would you just riff with him and he would jump on whatever and join in. Plus he’s a nice dude so there would definitely be fruit and baked goods in the jam room!

A: Biffy Clyro
Why? You just have to listen to any Biffy album to hear that the recording sessions are not just enjoyable but complex and innovative. We would learn a lot from them. We take a Biffy approach to writing our songs. We can come up with something as simple as Verse/Bridge/Chorus and then say “right, lets Biffy Clyro it and fuck shit up”

A: Queen
Why? Just to see what Freddie was really like and get to know Brian. I have Brian May on instagram, he’s always posting random stuff, but it’s always interesting and not just music related. I’d chew his ear off about how he made his guitar. To top it all off the crowds they played to were massive. And not one person has their phone out (for obvious reasons) it was just a different time and to tour with them would have been unreal!
