We have been all excited at FOTF about post-punk rock outfit James And The Cold Gun throughout the past year. Their new track, Long Way Home, has heightened that excitement to fever pitch levels.
Duo James and the Cold Gun, based in Cardiff, South Wales have also shared the news that they have signed to Gallows’ label Venn Records.
James And The Cold Gun are flatmates James Joseph and James Biss, the band’s moniker came from a Kate Bush track which self-confessed music junkie Joseph stumbled across whilst watching a documentary on the singer. The duo has been writing together for over a year, driven by a desire to move away from the pop-grounded sound of former projects and return to their rock and roll roots.
Following a first spin from Daniel P Carter on the BBC Radio One Rock Show, 6 March 2021, the band have now officially released their new single Long Way Home. The track is accompanied by an official video shot at The Giraffe Shed in Tregynon, Central Wales and directed by The Costa Sisters.
After a flurry of music industry buzz and 250k+ Spotify streams on their 2019 debut single She Moves, the band linked up with two-time Grammy Award-winning super producer Adrian Bushby(Foo Fighters, Placebo, Muse) for this forthcoming batch of songs, mastered by Grant Berry(All Time Low, Deaf Havana, Normandie, Hot Milk).
With further new material TBA and a wealth of pent-up rock and roll-fuelled anthems in the pipeline, it’s safe and exciting to say that we’ll be seeing plenty more of James And The Cold Gun throughout 2021.
