The Tour Is Set To Start In September!
The band are celebrating 40 years since the release of their second album!
Last year the band released their first album in 15 years, and it received excellent critical acclaim from many magazines, obviously they didn’t get to tour the album upon release, so now, a year on from the album being released, the band will finally get to tour it! The tour will run from September-October, and will see the band perform up and down the country, including a debut performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall!
With the release of their latest album, the band have now produced 8 studio albums, and the second of those, ‘Talk Talk Talk’ celebrates turning 40 this year, so there’s no doubt that the band will commemorate this and perform a fair few tracks from the album, alongside their latest material. The latest album, ‘Made Of Rain’ marked the Furs’ second highest charting album in the UK! ‘Made Of Rain’ was produced by Richard Fortus with The Psychedelic Furs, whilst mixing duties were handled by Tim Palmer (David Bowie, U2, Robert Plant).
For the tour, the band will be supported by the incredible Pauline Murray, who is set to bring her unique blend of 80s pop and punk soundscape, to thrill audiences all around the nation. The artist first came to prominence as the lead singer and bass guitarist of pioneering punk band Penetration. From Ferryhill in County Durham, the group played at the legendary Roxy in January 1977 during the first hundred days, after which their exciting live shows and demos led to Virgin Records releasing classic anthem Don’t Dictate as a one off single in November. Two albums – Moving Targets and Coming Up for Air both sold respectably, while the band built up a dedicated live following and toured America for five weeks in the summer of 1979.
