Grunge trio, Brooders, explode onto the scene with their blistering new single, Haze, and you’d be wise to take note.

The word melodic very rarely fits alongside terms such as grunge, punk or aggressive, but the Leeds-based boys have released a sound that immediately embeds itself into your brain with its forceful hooks, while traces of a youthful Green Day burst out of the seams.

It’s a relentless gritty rock number, with darkness running through the track’s DNA, predominantly in the words screamed out by frontman Adam Bairstow, although at times the lyrical content is perhaps a little clichéd for this genre of music.

As far as first singles go, Haze is a powerhouse release.
