We were sure Gerard Way was working on his sophomore solo album, when he released his first new material in years last month.

Today with a second new track, released in less than a month, we have another bold indicator that we are right!.

The song is called Getting Down The Germs, released via reprise Records, and if the title doesn’t have you squirming at little at the thought, the petri dish centric video will. Germophobes beware!

Talking about the single Way explains “I had really been wanting a song that featured the flute prominently for quite some time. It sits in there perfectly, like it was made to pay the song a visit. The whole song reminds me of wiggling squiggling wormy germs. It’s a very calm affair that shows a peek into where I may be heading musically. I hope you enjoy it. It was fun to make.”

The song is a memorable snappy indie number that was co-written with Way’s former My Chemical Romance bandmate Ray Toro alongside Hollywood Studio Orchestra’s flute soloist Sara Andon and two-time Grammy winner Producer, Doug McKean.

We’re certainly excited for Gerard Way’s new releases and what might be yet to come. *Fingers Crossed* an album and tour, we’ll let you known as soon as we do.
