Saytr Play…..not your average band

Saytr Play. You will have come across them here at Flick Of The Finger, over the course of 2018. Well, now 2019 is upon us and so is a brand new song from the band. Its name? Bang Average.

It’s a song about love (don’t we all like a song about love, every now and then?), but not in the conventional sense of it. A boy meets a girl, and falls desperately in love with her. The problem is that she isn’t in touching distance, and the questioning process of the boy begins. A song that covers all the bases.

If you heard Fragile by Saytr Play last year, then you’ll know how Fred Farrell and the band cover even the most questioning of subjects. With a groove that’ll make you get up and have a dance, done in the way that only a Manchester band can do it. The intro has a shade of Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting by Elton John, but don’t let that deceive you. This is a song which will be one of the indie anthems of this year.

Once again, this is produced by Joe Cross. He knows how to succeed at a high musical level, being the bass player of fellow Mancunian musical cohorts, The Courteeners. Saytr Play will be up there with the big boys if they keep the music up to this wonderful standard. Bang Average? Not on your nelly. These guys will be the name to look out for in 2019.

Bang Average is available to stream and download now, available on the Lovers Music label.

The band also play a live date at the Gorilla in Manchester on Friday 22nd February. Tickets are available now from the venue and on the Ents 24 website.
