As Kendal Calling Release their stunning line up for this years festival, heres the FOTF top picks.

With the likes of  the Phonics, Manics, Franz and Brian Wilson taking up the spot light this year, there are plenty of must see bands who have impressed us all year round.

Last years Kendal Calling was another complete sell-out and having once again won Best Medium Festival at the UK Festival Awards, the first acts have been announced for the fan favourite festival.

Headlining this year are Stereophonics, Manic Street Preachers, Franz Ferdinand, Brian Wilson and Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls. In fact, everywhere you look there is an household name that you wouldn’t mind seeing…

Recently The Hunna blew us away at their Manchester show. With a solid fanbase and epic stage presence make sure you catch them this year at Kendal – in a festival environment I image they’ll be cracking.

The Coral have had a very strong year in 2016. Supporting the Roses at Etihad didn’t really do them justice however their own tour, promoting ‘Distance Inbetween’ was class. Great album too and we love their slightly heavier new direction

Punk rockers, The Slaves will blow you away! there isn’t really any other way to get that message to you. Their 2016 album ‘Take Control’ got some great reviews and they have been selling out shows up and down the country – go see them and find out why!

‘God Only Knows’ why Brian Wilson hasn’t headlined a festival before but the Kendal booking manager obviously thought ‘Wouldn’t It Be Nice’ (boom boom) It’s fair to say that these opportunities may not present them selves very often so when they do… get in the front row and let everyone know you were there! You’ll be surprised how many tracks you will sing start to finish.

Anthemic alt-rockers Nothing But Thieves make an appearance this year. We covered them in Birmingham last year and the place was bouncing! comfy protective shoes! take note!

Brighton based indie-pop Fickle Friends will keep you entertained. We saw some great reviews from their recent shows and their melodic pop synth vibes will have you dancing along. If you like 1975 then this summery band will be right up your street.

In a total contrast to Fickle Friends, Dead! are hitting the line up this year. We first came across this band when we were sent their track ‘You’re So Cheap’. Its a cracking track, think early 90’s grunge with some Biffy this London based band are one of our TIP PICKS – Love em’.

We’ll be posting some more FOTF Top Picks for this years Kendal Calling so, stay tuned. Who are you looking forward to seeing?
