Lechlade Festival Full Line Up Revealed
Now in its 9th year, Lechlade Festival returns over the bank holiday weekend from 24th to 26th May 2019.
The boutique festival in the Cotswolds is jam-packed with over 100 performers, including Ivor Novello award-winning, Brit Award-nominated band The Feeling as headliners. The Feeling burst onto the British pop scene in 2005 and enjoyed a string of Top 10 hits, including: Sewn, Rosé, Fill My Little World, Love it When You Call & Never Be Lonely. The band will perform these and more from their Twelve Stops and Home Album which was recently reissued celebrating its 12thanniversary.
They are supported on Sunday night by Rob Heron and The Tea Pad Orchestra, described as aswing-honkytonk-rockabilly band. “Expect boogaloo, ragtime hokum, country blues and more, with influences from Bob Wills to Django Reinhardt, George Jones to Tom Waits,” says Festival Director Jennie Rainsford, “we can’t wait to see these guys on stage. It’s such a growing genre, fusing exciting and energetic music styles from yesteryear with a contemporary twist.”
Lechlade Festival Comedy Line up
In addition to 5 music stages, the Comedy Tent will offer an alternative form of entertainment on Friday and Saturday night. Sponsored by Edward Bays Limited, the Swindon and Oxford based heating and plumbing company, the tent boasts a lively line-up of stand up, comedy musicians and more.
“The Edward Bays Comedy Tent offers something a little different to festival goers”, says Festival Founder Jennie Rainsford, “the line -up is looking fantastic, it’s a great place to sit back and enjoy a great laugh.”
This year’s line up includes Nailsworth based Gavin Pond, Gloucestershire comedians Nick Manzonowicz and Eddie O’Keefe and many more.
The full festival line up can be seen on the website, including acts announced for a new stage for this year, curated by Sofar Sounds Swindon.
Last year’s event attracted record numbers with over 6,500 festival-goers enjoying a sunny weekend in the Riverside Country Park alongside the River Thames at Lechlade. This year’s festival promises to be bigger and better, whilst sticking firmly to the festival’s roots as a family friendly event, with comedy, camping, boutique glamping, free music, dance and craft workshops, circus skills tent, burlesque and more. Fab food, real ales, stalls and rides complete the weekend.
Children 16 and under go free, whether camping or visiting for the day. Make the most of your bank holiday weekend with three amazing days in the glorious Cotswolds.
See you there, out in the fields!
