Fast rising US rockers, Greta Van Fleet will be playing a slot on the Zippo Encore stage at this year’s Download.

Barely out of their teens, this will be the band’s first appearance at the legendary rock festival at Castle Donington.

They have also now completely sold out their first UK headline tour, with the venues already having had to be upgraded to cope with demand. Later in the year the boys will also be playing both weekends of the prestigious Coachella Festival in California.

Having already made waves in the US with two massive rock radio hits in “Highway Tune” and “Safari Song” both hitting no.1 in the mainstream rock charts, the band had their first appearance on UK soil with two sold out London Shows (Camden’s Black Heart and the Tufnell Park Dome) in September 2017.

Last year the band also released the eight-track ‘From The Fires’ which combines four new tracks recorded in September at Rust Belt Studios in Detroit – two GVF original songs, “Talk on the Street” and “Edge of Darkness,” and two covers, Sam Cooke’s emotional “A Change Is Gonna Come” and “Meet On The Ledge” by the late 60’s folk rock band Fairport Convention – with the four songs from the band’s debut EP, Black Smoke Rising, released earlier this year. ‘From The Fires’ was produced by the same duo that helmed Black Smoke Rising, Al Sutton and Marlon Young. As Greta Van Fleet vocalist Josh Kiszka said, “These eight songs belong together as they share a theme of basic humanity.”
