David Bowie was honoured in spectacular fashion at the BRIT Awards 2016 on Wednesday night.

And the late music icon’s son Duncan Jones has spoken out in support of Lorde’s moving performance of his hit Life On Mars as part of the ceremony’s tribute to the star whom Annie Lennox hailed ‘the embodiment of the word “icon”‘ in her introductory speech.

The English film director took to Twitter to praise and thank the 19-year-old singer – whom David had previously said is the future of music – for her performance, branding it ‘beautiful’.
