Goose Island and Supergrass have teamed up for a live stream gig
Maybe there is hope for live music after all
Set a reminder in your calendars, and cancel all plans, as on 21st August at 7pm GMT, Supergrass will be taking to the stage at Manchester’s Band on the Wall, and it will be being live-streamed for all to view from the safety and comfort of their own home. It will be broadcast in VR and 360° video live on the night, and you will get closer to the action than you have ever been before.
To view the show, a charity donation of £2 is required, 50% of all proceeds will be going to the music therapy charity, Nordorff Robbins, and 50% will be heading to Supergrass’ choice of charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably). Your £2 donation will get you a single use code to watch the gig from your sofa, and UK viewers will also be entered into a Goose Island prize draw.
350 winners will win a FREE cardboard Goose Island VR headset and a 4 pack of Goose Island beer, which will arrive in time for the gig. There are also five chances to win a virtual ‘meet-and-greet’ with Supergrass.
Speaking about the gig, Supergrass had this to say,
“After having to postpone many of our live shows this year, we’re so happy to team up with Goose Island to play a really intimate show in Manchester to raise money for two charities close to our hearts Nordoff Robbins & CALM. We love playing live and can’t wait to share this intimate show with people virtually too. Grassroots venues in Manchester and everywhere else are battling to survive right now and they’re desperate to be able to access the money the government has promised to help them. It’s really important that the process is fast tracked now so that no more venues have to close for good and they can fully open up for bands and fans as soon as it’s safe.”
It is set to be a fantastic night, and with the band having had many festival appearances and gigs lined up for this year, it is the closest fans will get to see the band perform this year.
