The Manics Will Tour In September and October This Year

Alongside the new tour dates, the band have also released a single from their forthcoming album

Manic Street Preachers have today given their fans a second taster of their forthcoming studio album, ‘The Ultra Vivid Lament’ which is due out 3rd September 2021 via Columbia/Sony records. The new track is titled, ‘The Secret He Had Missed’ and is available on all streaming platforms now. The album is available for pre-order from the bands WEBSITE now!

The new single follows on from the successful first single, ‘Orwellian’ and is a true reminder of what The Manics are capable of. The track opens with rumbling bass, driving drums paired with keys reminiscent of ABBA, before kicking in with a slightly overdriven guitar and the incredible vocals of James Dean Bradfield, who on this track is backed by Julia Cumming (Sunflower Beam), and the pair harmonise perfectly throughout the track, giving it real indie-pop vibes. The catchy vocals are sure to go down a treat at their upcoming tour, which will see the band travel the length and the breadth of the country, after what has been their longest time away from live performances in their career.

Accompanying the new single, is a video directed by the band’s long-time visual collaborator Kieran Evans in Tenby and Newport’s Dolman Theatre. The video stars Newport born actress, Aimee Ffion Edwards (Peaky Blinders/Skins). Check it out below
