The New Album Will Land In January 2022

‘Don’t Let It Get You Down’ is the first single from the forthcoming album

Miles Kane is back, and he’s returned with ‘Don’t Let It Get You Down’, the first single from his upcoming album, ‘Change The Show’ which is due for release on 21st January 2022. Miles Kane has also announced an intimate London show for 15th September at Omeara, and tickets for that will go on sale on Friday 3rd September, and you can grab yours via this link!

The new single is a great listen, with jazzy vibes intertwined with a slightly psych feel too. It’s energetic and catchy, so nothing out of the ordinary there for Miles Kane. The track opens in a rather out of the ordinary way however, with samples of fellow Wirral citizen, Paul O’Grady as Lily Savage opening the track, which is definitely something I can’t say I’ve seen before. With the new single comes a brand-spanking new video too, and you’re in for a treat. Miles channels his inner Mafioso and jazz band musician at the same time. He’s suited and booted in a dimly lit bar and it’s a great watch. He’s accompanied in the video by Emmy Award-nominated actor Jimmi Simpson (Black Mirror, Westworld, House Of Cards) and you can check it out for yourself below!

The new album began to take shape following on from a session between Miles and Psych-rock duo, Sunglasses for Jaws. “I saw myself in their energy, but also their taste and their knowledge of music,” Miles explains. “It was the first time I’d felt old!” He also said this about the new album; “This album was born out of an intense period of self-reflection; having all this unexpected time on my hands,” Miles said of the last 18 months. “I wrote songs about big highs, big lows, daydreams, true friends and deep feelings. I learnt to let the future unfold of its own accord, while staying true to myself and that has led to what feels to me like a really uplifting album!”

The new album is said to be an album for fans old and new, and is said to focus more on Miles’ old soul, Mowtown and 50’s R&B influences. It’s alike nothing else being released by a pop music artist at the moment, and we cannot wait to hear the album in full, especially the collaboration with Grammy-nominated singer Corinne Bailey Rae on the track ‘Nothing’s Ever Gonna Be Good Enough’.
