Parliamo Have Already Been Hailed As One Of Scotland’s  Most Exciting Prospects.

Introducing Perth based 6-piece Parliamo (pronounced Par-Lee-Ammo) who today announce their debut project ‘The Parliamo Manifesto’, alongside its lead single “Paul & Barry”.

With the release of the single “Paul & Barry” today and their upcoming EP ‘The Parliamo Manifesto’ – Parliamo are taking confident strides to becoming one of the most talked about bands in the country. The band already have backing from UK and Scottish radio stations such as BBC 6Music, Radio Scotland, Radio X, as well as KEXP over in the United States. The band cite their influences to be a wide range of musicians and artists, from the likes of John Cooper Clarke, Mike Skinner, to Groove Armada and Fatboy Slim.

On a first listen of the new track, “Paul & Barry” the band give off  ‘Tranquility Hotel Base & Casino’ vibes, with hints of Muse, The Streets and a touch of Black Honey. It’s a jangly indie track, and wouldn’t have been miles out of place in the early 2000’s. One thing that is definitely working in favour of the band is where they have come from. Whilst there is the odd band coming out from Scotland over the past few years (think the likes of The Snuts), there is yet to be an influx, so any bands that do cross the border into touring England, usually get a good reception.

As part of their scheduled tour, they are set to perform at Liverpool’s Sound City festival, which takes place 1st-3rd October 2021. There music is sure to go down well with the crowds there, and that festival is always a great place for upcoming acts such as Parliamo to make a name for themselves and start to get noticed. Although, they are quite clearly of that already, having released their latest single through Modern Sky UK, the same label which puts out bands such as; The Blinders, The Slow Readers Club, and Lottery Winners. So Parliamo are in great company there.
